THE FIT INSTITUTE IN ASSOCIATION WITH THE CONDITIONING CLINIC ARE PROUD TO PRESENT:

Performance SERIES - SOFT tissue mobilization for personal trainers

Using the Fascial Abrasion Technique Tool. FAT-Tool

The revolutionary design of the FAT-Tool makes it the first individual tool with multiple treatment surfaces. The patented textured surface makes it the only Tissue mobilization tool of its kind. This design truly allows for deep tissue mobilization and frees up facial areas of increase tissue tension.

Soft Tissue Mobilization

  • ˜ This workshop is specifically designed for the Personal Trainer.
  • FAT-Tool design describing treatment edges and surfaces
  • ˜ Fascial Tension Regional Assessment-shoulder, back, hips, knee, ankles
  • Indications and Contraindications for use.
  • Basic FAT-Tool strokes for Fascial Mobilization.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • The participants will learn how to assess clients for areas of fascial restriction that limit range of motion.
  • When it is appropriate to use the FAT- Tool and the most effective way to use it to help improve soft tissue mobility .

SOFT TISSUE MOBILIZATION USING THE FAT-TOOL

The FAT-Tool is a patented design with a patented textured surface. The design of the Tool provides a single tool with a comfortable handle and multiple treatment edges. Each edge has three treatment surfaces. The special textured surface allows for better grip of the fascia and therefore less pressure is used to achieve true tissue tension. release .

What is Performance Taping and what are the potential benefits?

Performance Taping involves placing strips of elastic kinesiology tape called Performance Tape on the skin to balance muscle function. Performance Taping, unlike conventional athletic taping is applied in a manner that allows the body to move freely without restriction. Performance Taping can be used to help balance muscle firing patterns and improve joint function. Performance Tape is used by amateur, Olympic and professional athletes. This taping procedure can help improve the quality of your client’s movement and improve the efficiency of your program design.

What is involved?

After a functional evaluation, Performance Tape is placed over the muscles in a manner to either increase or decrease muscle activation. The intention is to optimize motor recruitment in order to improve the quality of movement of prescribed exercises.

How does it work and why is it effective?

Performance Taping works by affecting the specialized nerve receptors of the skin and the underlying fascia through the gentle tugging action the tape offers during movement. This results in normalization of motor function and improves quality of movement.

Course Objective

Personal trainers will learn how to assess their clients for muscle imbalances and learn how to apply Performance Tape using the Performance Taping method, to normalize nervous system activity, balance muscle activation and improve quality of movement for associated exercises.

Course Format

This course will teach personal trainers Performance Taping applications appropriate for their clients. The 12 hour course will include a mixture of classroom presentations and practical lab sessions that will allow for extensive practice, with active feedback and guidance from the course instructors. During the practical lab sessions, students will learn how to perform and interpret functional assessments and they will learn the appropriate associated taping applications and corrective exercises. Extensive opportunities for feedback and practice in the hands-on lab sessions is a key feature of this course, ensuring that students develop assessment and taping skills that will translate directly to improved outcomes for their clients.
